Coroner identifies shooting victim as 17-year-old Las Vegan

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the male teen found shot dead in a southeast valley Kmart parking lot early Saturday morning as 17-year-old Martin Jefferson Jr., of Las Vegas.

Jefferson died from a gunshot wound to the neck, the coroner said. His death was ruled a homicide.

Las Vegas homicide detectives on Monday had no suspects or motive in the shooting that happened about 2 a.m. in the 3700 block of East Sunset Road, near Sandhill Road, said officer Bill Cassell.
