The Clark County coroner’s office identified a woman who was killed Sunday night at a west valley apartment complex.
Raquel Latasha Stapinski, 41, was shot in the arm and armpit during a confrontation between two groups at the Lantana Apartments, 6501 W. Charleston Blvd. Las Vegas police responded to the fight around 9 p.m. and found her body near one of the buildings.
Stapinski, who does not have a criminal record, was celebrating a neighbor’s birthday when a fight broke out between people attending that party and another group that was also having a party nearby. In a statement, the Metropolitan Police Department said at least two people involved drew guns and began firing.
Metro is investigating the shooting.
