2 Las Vegas officers injured in crash with suspected DUI driver

Two Metropolitan Police Department officers were injured early Monday when a suspected DUI driver hit their vehicle in northwest Las Vegas.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m., the officers were heading north on James Bilbray Drive near Balzar Avenue when a man in his 40s, heading east on Balzar, ran a stop sign and hit the driver’s side of the patrol car, according to Metro Lt. David Gordon.

Both officers were taken to a hospital. Gordon said they possibly suffered limb injuries.

The suspected DUI driver was taken into custody was treated for a knee injury. Police have not said what charges he might face.
