Allegiant Travel Co. sees monthly passenger count rise 8.2 percent

Allegiant Travel Co., the parent company of Allegiant Air, said its passenger count on scheduled flights in February was 541,000, up 8.2 percent from a year earlier.

Because of longer flights and planes with more seats on them, the number of miles each seat traveled occupied by a paying customer, known as revenue passenger miles, rose 15.4 percent to 561.8 million. Meanwhile, the occupancy level dipped less than a point to 89.7 percent.
