Allegiant Air will start flights from Las Vegas to Lafayette, La.

Allegiant Travel Co. will head into the heart of Cajun country on Nov. 1 when Allegiant Air, the company’s discount carrier, starts nonstop flights from Las Vegas to Lafayette, La.

The flights follow the airline’s typical pattern of bringing passengers from small and midsized cities directly to one of their leisure destinations. Three airlines now go to Lafayette, between Houston and New Orleans, but going to Las Vegas requires changing flights at one of their hubs. However, they have daily service while Allegiant will fly only twice a week.

Allegiant has posted a limited-time introductory fare of $89 one way.
