Mortgage modification workshop set for Saturday

Homeowners who want mortgage modifications are invited to a workshop sponsored Saturday by Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev.

Counselors approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and representatives of Bank of America, Wells Fargo Bank, Chase Bank and CitiMortgage will participate.

The workshop will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the East Las Vegas Community Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave.

Homeowners seeking assistance should bring mortgage pay stubs for the last two months, bank statements for the last two months, signed copies of their 2009 and 2010 tax returns and a letter explaining their hardship. Self-employed workers should bring their most recent profit and loss statement and a copy of their last tax return with all schedules.
