Ex-gaming exec named to utility post

Glenn Christenson, 57, who recently retired as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Station Casino, was elected to Sierra Pacific Resources board, the utility company said Monday.
Christenson worked for Station Casinos for 17 years. Before that, he was a partner with the accounting firm Deloitte Haskins & Sells, which is now known as Deloitte & Touche. He served as partner-in-charge of audit services for the Nevada practice and the national audit partner for the firm’s hospitality industry practice.
He served on the board of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the National Center for Responsible Gaming, the Nevada State College Foundation and the Nevada Development Authority.
