Rolladen Rolling Shutters joins Nevada Energy Star Partners

Rolladen Rolling Shutters is one of Nevada Energy Star Partners’ newest members and a platinum sponsor of the 2009 Nevada Energy Star campaign. The 25-year-old Las Vegas company was first marketed as a way to enhance home security, but the shutters also lower power bills by reducing and blocking heat in the summer, and enhancing heat retention in the winter, according to the company’s founder, Fran Minnozzi.

“Rolladen Rolling Shutters were ahead of their time in terms of delivering green, energy conservation benefits,” she said.

This multi-faceted rolling shutter lowers energy consumption as much as 64 percent, according to Minnozzi. In addition, she said, the shutters protect against carpets, drapes and furniture fading, block dust and pollen, decrease outside noises and protects against burglaries.

Rolladen Rolling Shutters feature foam-filled slats that are operated manually, electronically and even by remote control. They are used on the outside of windows and doors and are available in an assortment of colors to match home exteriors.
