Public comments start for Clark County solar plant

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

The Bureau of Land Management is starting a 60-day public comment period for a proposed solar energy project east of Primm.

The proposal involves 13,043 acres of federal land in Clark County near the California border. The project from First Solar, Inc., would produce approximately 400 megawatts of electricity.

Residents are invited to voice their concerns through Oct. 31 about the environmental impact of the project.
