Public comment on wind farm proposal ends Wednesday
August 16, 2010 - 10:01 am
The public comment period about the impacts of a wind farm planned near a migratory bat roost in White Pine County will end at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Biologists estimate as many as 3 million Mexican free-tailed bats use Rose Cave as a stopover between late July and early October. The cave is located about 5 miles from the site for the proposed, 75-turbine Spring Valley wind energy project.
Written comments on the Bureau of Land Management’s draft finding of no significant impact for the project can be sent to Gina Jones, BLM Ely District Office, HC 33 Box 33500, Ely, NV 89301.
Comments may be submitted electronically to springvalley@blm.gov.
