Las Vegas fuel prices continue upward march

Prices for regular gasoline continue to rise in Las Vegas and have climbed 1.3 percent in a week, AAA said Monday.
In its Daily Fuel Gauge Report, AAA said the average price of a gallon of regular self-serve unleaded gasoline was $3.715 Monday, up from $3.666 a week ago. The price is up 7.5 percent from $3.455 a gallon a month ago and up 30.4 percent from $2.85 a gallon a year ago, AAA said.
In three states, AAA said, the average price for regular gasoline exceeded $4 a gallon Monday: Hawaii ($4.214), Alaska ($4.049) and California ($4.028).
Nevada’s statewide average per-gallon price was $3.75 on Monday, AAA said, which ranked behind Hawaii, Alaska, California, Washington ($3.773), the District of Columbia ($3.771), New York ($3.762) and Connecticut ($3.756).
The national average price was $3.584.
Average prices for other fuels have risen along with prices for gasoline in Las Vegas. The price of a gallon of premium in the valley was $3.92 per gallon on Monday, AAA said, up 6.7 percent from $3.674 per gallon a month ago and up 25.9 percent from $3.113 per gallon a year ago.
Meanwhile, valley diesel prices have risen more than $1 a gallon in a year’s time, AAA said. The auto club said the average Las Vegas price for a gallon of diesel was $3.997 Monday, up 5.4 percent from $3.789 per gallon a month ago, and up 36.9 percent from $2.919 per gallon a year ago.
