CG Technologies launches upgrade to mobile sports betting app

Sports book operator CG Technologies has launched an upgrade to its mobile sports wagering application that developers said increases the opportunities for customers to bet on games.

CG Technologies CEO Lee Amaitis said the company, which operates race and sports books at eight Las Vegas resorts, generates roughly 60 percent of its wagers from its mobile wagering application.

The company has operated mobile sports wagering since 2012 and has some 20,000 registered users. Last year, more than $3.5 billion was wagered in Nevada sports books.

Amaitis expects the upgraded application, which was softly launched last week, to grow the company’s percentage of wagers placed through the mobile application and also increase the company’s overall wagering handle.

“If we’re to continue to grow sports wagering in Nevada, then increasing the opportunities through the new mobile app will help meet the customers’ demands,” Amaitis said.

The company wanted to launch the application in time for the National Football League preseason, which began last week.

The new application offers several new features, including parlay cards which tie together two or more selections under one wager, future betting lines, which place odds on a team’s chances to win a championship, and additional proposition wagers on individual games.

The application also includes offer/counter offer feature in which a customer can increase or decrease the size of any wager, and continuous markets, where customers can wagering on changes to the money line, spread or total while a game in in progress.

CG’s in-running wagering feature, where customers can place bets on the outcome of a certain plays or events while the game is in progress, remains part of the product.

Amaitis said the CG mobile application was the company’s most comprehensive expansion to its product line. He said customers were consulted as to what they would like to find in the application.

In total, the CG application contains 10 different features for wagering on professional and college games and events.

Mobile sports wagering is confined to within Nevada’s boundaries. The application automatically shuts off once a customer’s mobile device leaves the state.

The application is available for all Apple, Android and Windows PC devices.

The CG mobile sports wagering application is also available at the Atlantis, Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas, but customers can only access the application at the hotel-casino.
