Redevelopment planned for casino on Paradise Road

A local real estate developer said Tuesday he acquired majority ownership of the Mardi Gras Hotel & Casino on Paradise Road and plans to redevelop the property.

Daniel Grimm of DG Development Corp. didn’t give price for the purchase. The hotel currently has 314 hotel rooms. He plans to remodel the property into a 700-room resort with a 35,000 square-foot casino.

In a statement, Grimm said he hopes to complete the project “in concert” with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s planned Las Vegas Global Business District Project.
