Powerball tickets to be available across border from Primm casinos

Tickets for the multistate, mega-jackpot Powerball lottery will soon be available across the border from the three Primm casinos.

The California Lottery Commission voted to adopt the Powerball lottery game, which allows the Primm Valley Lotto Store to begin sales April 8. The first drawing is expected to take place April 10.

Loren Gill, general manager of Primm Valley Casino Resorts, which are owned by Affinity Gaming, said Powerball is one of the most recognized lottery games in the country.

“It has both tremendous drawing power and a loyal following,” Gill said. “This provides Primm with another great amenity.”

The Primm Valley Lotto Store is located 25 minutes south of Las Vegas, on the California side of the Nevada-California border. It is considered the most convenient location for Southern Nevadans to buy lottery tickets.

Powerball jackpots begin at $40 million and increase by $10 million every roll. Players choose five numbers from 1 to 59 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 35. Players can choose either their own numbers or a Quick Pick. Draws are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:59 p.m. PST.
