Casinos cautioned to restrict access to player card information

Casino player cards represent a growing number of fraud cases in Las Vegas, as hackers target the popular programs and casinos’ customer databasesto gain access to customers’ personal information or steal points. The problem has become serious enough that the Nevada Gaming Control Board sent a letter in December reminding casino companies of their obligations to protect customer information and periodically review their database security.

New pro poker league makes Las Vegas home

Poker player Annie Duke will the commissioner of a new professional poker league that begins play later this year in Las Vegas. The brainchild of Duke and former World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack is geared toward the big names on the professional poker circuit.
