New room tower for M Resort to break ground

Updated November 30, 2023 - 7:27 pm

Representatives of the M Resort in Henderson will break ground on its new 384-room resort tower Dec. 11, the company announced Wednesday.

Wyomissing, Pennsylvania-based Penn Entertainment Inc. also plans to release new renderings of the $206 million project first announced in October 2022.

Hussain Mahrous, vice president and general manager of M Resort Spa Casino, Patrick Durkin, vice president of marketing for M, Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero and representatives of Penn Entertainment and Marnell Construction are scheduled to appear at the event.

M’s capacity will nearly double with the project, announced as part of a companywide $850 million expansion involving Penn properties in Illinois, Ohio and Nevada.

The M opened as the Las Vegas Valley’s southernmost property in March 2009. It was acquired by Penn in 2011. Penn sold its other Las Vegas property, the Tropicana, to Bally’s Corp. in September 2022 for $148 million.

The M has capitalized on its close proximity to the Las Vegas Raiders’ corporate headquarters and training facility about three miles away. In 2019, the resort became the “Official Raiders Team Headquarters Hotel” and in April 2021, the resort opened the Raiders Tavern & Grill, the world’s only official Raiders-themed restaurant.
