Isle of Capri Casinos says new chief will take reins April 25

Virginia McDowell will take over as chief executive officer of Isle of Capri Casinos on April 25, the St. Louis-based company announced Monday.

In the previously announced executive transition, McDowell will continue to serve as the regional casino operator’s president. James Perry, Isle of Capri’s current chairman and chief executive officer, will remain as executive chairman of the company.

McDowell joined Isle of Capri as president and chief operating officer in July 2007, and has had a 30-year career in the gaming industry.

Isle of Capri recently began construction of a casino project in Cape Girardeau, Mo., who would be the company’s 16th casino.
