Cosmopolitan named to Fodor’s best hotels list
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas was named one of Fodor’s 100 best hotels in the world. The newest resort to open on the Strip was nominated in the travel guide’s "new and worthy" category.
"Design innovation is at the center of the Cosmopolitan, the sleekest new hotel on the Vegas Strip," the editors wrote.
Judges commended the Cosmopolitan for its state-of-the-art technology, creativity and a slate of restaurants that will excite even the most "humdrum foodie."
"Video screen-bedecked pillars greet guests with digital artwork as they check in via iPad at red lacquered registration desks," editors wrote. "On the casino floor, guests can escape the crowds by slipping into a ‘casino cabana,’ small, lounge-style rooms that offer a VIP gambling experience without the VIP expense.
"Then there’s The Chandelier, a three-story bar bedazzled with enough crystals to make patrons feel like they’re sitting inside a Swarovski showroom. Above all this, in the property’s nearly 3,000 rooms, the design aesthetic continues; every suite boasts a collection of art books and a jar of colored pencils. Who said gambling getaways can’t inspire?"
As a nominee, the Cosmopolitan is featured on Fodor’s website and will be celebrated at an upcoming awards event in New York City.
Other exclusive hotels nominated in the "new and worthy" category include Hotel Bel-Air and The Redbury in Los Angeles.
