Cantor Gaming cleared to run Venetian, Palazzo sports books

Cantor Gaming has received final approval from state gaming regulators to operate the race and sports books at The Venetian and the Palazzo, the company said Thursday.

With the approvals in place, Cantor will begin operating the sports book at Lagasse’s Stadium at the Palazzo on Sept. 1. Cantor President and CEO Lee Amaitis said upgrades to the facility are “well under way.”

In a statement, the company said it expects to complete construction on a new sports book at The Venetian by November.

Cantor has had a presence at both Strip hotels for several years, while it leased sports wagering technology to the resorts owned by the Las Vegas Sands Corp.

Las Vegas-based Cantor Gaming, an affiliate of the financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald LP, operates the sports books at M Resort, the Hard Rock Hotel, the Tropicana Las Vegas and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
