American Wagering opens accounts for Android app

American Wagering Inc. started opening new customer accounts for its Leroy’s sports wagering application for the Android operating system Friday after receiving final approval from state gaming regulators.

Las Vegas-based American Wagering has also submitted a request to the Nevada Gaming Control Board for approval of its new tablet application on Android.

The application allows for a fully functioning sports book and offers a menu of sporting events as well as in-game betting, propositions and contests. Customers must open an account with Leroy’s before they can start betting.

In January, American Wagering became the first company in the United States with an approved smartphone application for sports wagering, after regulators approve their BlackBerry application.
