EVERETT, Mass. — Police say four people were arrested at the Boston area’s new casino in its first 24 hours of operation, including two men who were allegedly cheating at roulette.
Despite the arrests, Everett police Chief Steven Mazzie said his department dealt with “very limited problems” at the $2.6 billion Encore Boston Harbor, which opened Sunday.
One person was arrested for disorderly conduct and one was charged with trespassing for returning after being asked to leave.
State police say they also helped Wynn Resorts security personnel with lesser issues, including minors on the casino floor, arguments and crowd control.
An Encore spokesman says about 5,000 people were waiting in line for the opening and visitation was steady throughout the day.
