TableMax sues Shuffle Master for patent infringement

If it’s summer time, then one gaming equipment manufacturer is suing another over patent infringement.

Actually, the season doesn’t matter.

TableMax Gaming, which makes electronic gaming tables, said Shuffle Master Gaming has infringed on its patents through its TableMaster product. TableMax filed suit this week in federal court in Nevada.

TableMax wants Shuffle Master to stop distributing TableMaster, which has become one of the Las Vegas gambling equipment maker’s key products in such markets as Pennsylvania, California and other jurisdictions.

Patent infringement lawsuits between manufacturers are commonplace.

Slot machine giants International Game Technology and Bally Technolgies have roughly a dozen different claims and counter claims between each other weaving their ways through the federal court system.
