Seminole Tribe extends contract for gaming division CEO, hires former Borgata president

The Seminole Tribe of Florida, which owns Hard Rock International and dominates the state’s Indian casino market, extended the contracts of its top management and also brought two gaming veterans into the fold.

James Allen, the chief executive officer of Seminole Gaming, which operates two Hard Rock casinos in Florida and five casinos under the Seminole brand, saw his contract extended for five years in a formal vote of the tribal council. Two other top managers were also given contract extensions.

Meanwhile, Seminole Gaming hired former Borgata President Larry Mullin as chief operating officer. Mullin, who has 25 years of experience in the casino industry, was most recently the president of Echo Entertainment. Prior to his work with Borgata, Mullin held senior level executive positions with the Trump Organization and Harrah’s Entertainment.

Seminole Gaming also hired Michael Volkert as senior vice president of slot operations. Volkert spent 16 years in slot machine and marketing operations with casinos owned by MGM Resorts International.
