MGM Resorts employee challenge benefits Three Square

A competition between 13 Las Vegas-area hotel-casinos operated by MGM Resorts International will come to an end Wednesday when employees deliver the final shipment of more than 25 tons of canned food to the Three Square Food Bank.
The month-long challenge as to which property could donate the most canned food was the company’s largest ever food drive and the single largest company-sponsored canned food donation to Three Square.
Three Square and MGM Resorts will announce the winning property Wednesday at a special event, which includes the renaming of the food bank’s volunteer room after the casino operator.
MGM Resorts Foundation, funded entirely by employee contributions, and Cirque du Soleil Foundation, USA, will also present a donation to Three Square.
Three Square provides 17 million pounds of food and groceries — the equivalent of 12 million meals — to more than 570 non-profit and faith-based organizations, schools and feeding sites throughout Southern Nevada.
