IGT announces the death of board member Frederick Rentschler

International Game Technology board member Frederick Rentschler passed away recently, the Reno-based slot machine manufacturer announced Tuesday.
Rentschler had been a member of IGT’s board of directors since May 1992.
“As IGT’s longest serving board member, he has been an integral part of IGT’s success,” IGT Chief Executive Officer Patti Hart said in a statement. “His passion, dedication and enthusiasm will be missed throughout our organization. We would like to extend our sincere condolences to Fred’s family and friends."
Rentschler was president and CEO of Northwest Airlines before his retirement in 1991. He served as president and CEO of Beatrice Company from 1987 to 1989, and as president and CEO of Beatrice U.S. Foods from 1985 to 1987.
