Former gaming commission chairman O’Reilly seeks help for his ailing wife
January 24, 2012 - 8:41 pm
John O’Reilly is a former chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission and a respected Las Vegas attorney. He is also a friend.
Tonight, O’Reilly is asking for help.
O’Reilly’s wife, Rene, is suffering from cancer in her lungs and neck. She is attempting to qualify for a clinical trial in Boynton Beach, Fla., that involves an infusion of white cells from healthy donors.
Rene O’Reilly needs to find qualified B+ blood donors as soon as possible.
“B+ is a somewhat rare blood type, so the challenge is demanding,” John O’Reilly said in an email to friends and colleagues.
B+ donors need to be aged 20 to 25, healthy and without any family history of cancer.
“If you have B+ blood type or know someone that does who fits the criteria and will consider donating blood, please send an email to jrmckenney@me.com,” John O’Reilly said. “He will then send them a one-page donor form and follow up with them regarding the next steps. Thanks for anything and everything you can do to assist.”
