Economic troubles hit slot manufacturers
December 1, 2008 - 1:40 pm
Much has been written over the past few months about the economic troubles facing the major slot machine manufacturers. Industry giant International Game Technology, for example, has reported diminishing revenues and is going through employee layoffs and other cutbacks, hoping to trim more than $100 million in annual expenses.
AC Coin & Slot, a privately held slot maker located just outside Atlantic City, said it plans to boost production by 30 percent next year, hoping to gain market share in the growing Pennsylvania slot parlors and in expanding Indian gaming markets.
Jeff Seelig, AC Coin’s CFO, told the Press of Atlantic City it has downsized, but is developing more games than ever before.
