Control board’s Streshley promoted

The Gaming Control Board has named Frank Streshley chief of the Tax and License Division, effective May 11.

Streshley replaces Steve Hixon, who will retire after 30 years with the control board. Hixon had been the division’s chief since 1997.

Streshley is well known to media and to gaming analysts for reporting the monthly and annual gaming revenue figures, a task he will continue to handle in the interim.

“It makes sense for Frank to finish what he started in terms of forecasting gaming revenues for fiscal years 2010-11, and to see the current legislative session through to its closure,” Control Board Chairman Dennis Neilander said in a statement. “We are fortunate Frank has the capacity to perform both very important functions for the near term. In the long term, I have great confidence in Frank’s ability to lead the Tax and License Division.”

Streshley joined the board’s audit division in 1984. He was appointed senior research specialist in 1999, where he was tasked with analysis concerning gaming revenues statewide. He is also responsible for forecasting state gaming tax and fee collections.

A Nevada native, Streshley graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a degree in Business Administration and is a certified public accountant.
