Park Place Infiniti welcomes longtime auto executive as new GM

Park Place Infiniti has hired longtime auto dealership executive Rob Schweizer as its new general manager. Schweizer comes to Las Vegas with more than 14 years of experience with the Dallas-based Park Place brand.

“Park Place Dealerships is a growing brand in Las Vegas, having recently expanded our Park Place Infiniti property with a new state-of-the-art showroom and other improvements,” said Ken Schnitzer, founder and owner of Park Place Dealerships. “We’re happy to have Rob Schweizer bring his experience to this market and to continue building upon our commitment to excellence.”

Schweizer most recently served as general manager of Park Place Volvo in Dallas.

“I love the culture in Las Vegas,” Schweizer said. “I enjoy the people and the feel of this community. We have a great opportunity to extend the Park Place brand in this market. As experts in excellence, we provide service that goes beyond expectation. It also helps that Infiniti is a strong brand with a fabulous product to offer our clients here in Southern Nevada.”

Findlay Kia donates $3,000 to help 5-year-old girl

The management of Findlay Kia provided a donation of $3,000 recently to a special fund for Ava Urrea, a 5-year-old Las Vegas youngster who was born with a complex life-threatening heart condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome.

Ava’s parents, Las Vegas Athletic Club manager Edward and school teacher Amy are customers of Findlay Kia. They first purchased a 2009 Kia Optima and are planning to purchase another Kia in the next few months.

“There is no cure for Ava’s illness,” her mother said. “She has been through three different heart surgeries and there is another planned next summer.”

With the new challenges facing Ava and her family, the donation was very useful.

“With this money, we are planning to purchase a wheelchair for evacuation purposes in school,” Amy Urrea said. “I teach at Kathy L. Batterman Elementary School in the southwest and Ava will be going there in the fall, so I’m very grateful for the fact that she will be in the same school.”

Meanwhile, Ava’s mother feeds formula and vitamins through a feeding tube that is connected to her stomach. The family spends about $100 a month on the formula.

Mark Olson, director of E-commerce, said the family purchased its first vehicle from sales manager Richard Cheskiewicz.

“He spearheaded the entire donation,” Olson said. “This is one of those things. I have been in the business for 10 years and the involvement of Findlay Automotive Group is absolutely heartfelt. The list of people who have been helped by Findlay Automotive Group is endless.”
