Friendly Ford sales staff receives training on Ford Super Duty truck

Anticipation for the arrival of the 2017 Ford Super Duty truck at Friendly Ford has been at a fever pitch for weeks. Several members of the dealership staff traveled to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, for the Built Ford Tough Round-up where the Super Duty was highlighted.

According to dealership executives, the ’17 Super Duty is expected to arrive in the next few weeks. Evidence of the truck’s popularity is the fact that several customers have put down deposits for the arrival of their Super Duty.

The heavy-duty 2017 Super Duty has been hailed by various publications for many reasons, including its maximum payload. It has the highest maximum towing capability of any Super Duty; and it has new four-channel brake controls on the Super Duty Chassis Cab DRW models that allow for the addition of AdvanceTrac with roll-stability control.

Available power plants in the new Super Duty include the 6.7-liter power stroke turbo diesel, the 6.2-liter V-8 gas or 6.8-liter V-10 gas engine (chassis cab only).

According to Ford Motor Co., the 2017 Super Duty is the toughest Super Duty Chassis Cab ever. The truck has been fortified with strengthened frames and beefed-up axles, along with improved upfit (commercial upgrades) capability. It sits on the strongest Super Duty frame ever with 95 percent high-strength steel.

By reducing the weight of the truck by up to 350 pounds, Ford concentrated its efforts on using the money saved by transferring it into its frame, leaf springs, trailer hitch, rear axle, transfer case and more. The truck features the toughest Super Duty body ever with high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy.

David Boehle was part of the Friendly Ford staff who traveled to Auto Club Speedway.

“I have been to dozens of these kinds of comparison ride-and-drive events, and this one was one of the best,” said Boehle, who already has an order for the 2017 Super Duty Platinum.

“The customer is eagerly awaiting the arrival of his new truck,” he said. “Everything Ford has done with the truck is amazing. They even made the interior bolder.”

Situated at 660 N. Decatur Blvd., Friendly Ford opened in 1970. The dealership is a 17-time winner of the prestigious President’s Award, Ford’s highest single honor for customer satisfaction.
