Friendly Ford presents red carpet showing of 2018 Mustang

Friendly Ford internet sales director Josephine Gentry has strong feelings about the history of the Ford Mustang, so she created a unique kickoff for the 2018 version at the dealership Dec. 21.

The Ford Mustang was originally launched in 1962 as a two-seat concept car that evolved into a four-seater a year later.

While the vehicle has changed over the years, the popularity of the Mustang has skyrocketed, and the 2018 model is selling quickly at Friendly Ford.

Gentry wanted to do something special to salute the arrival of the 2018 Mustang. A two-hour event captivated the dealership.

“There have been several changes in the newest Mustang, including a facelift, interior changes, more horsepower and more torque, among others,” she said. “The event included red carpet and velvet rope mimicking an awards show. There were food, sparkling cider and music, and the event turned out to be a huge success.”

The Mustang is an iconic vehicle that is well-received every year.

“The Mustang is America’s car,” said Gentry, whose career in the car business has spanned 19 years. “So many models have come and gone over the years, but that’s not the case with the Mustang. The car has been upgraded in the past five decades, and it just gets stronger in automobile appeal.”

Gentry said several members of the Mustang and Classic Ford Club attended the event.

The newest Mustang is available in nine models, including the Ecoboost Fastback, the Ecoboost Premium Fastback, the Ecoboost Convertible, the GT Fastback, the Premium Convertible, the GT Premium Fastback, the GT Premium Convertible, the Shelby GT350 and the Shelby GT350R.
