Fremont Street Experience hosts Findlay-supported Heart & Stroke Walk

The 25th annual American Heart &Stroke Walk/Run scheduled Nov. 5 at the Fremont Street Experience is again receiving major support from Findlay Automotive Group, which recently donated $10,000 to the event.

The ever-growing event drew an estimated 6,000 participants last year and event officials expect an even bigger gathering this year. Heart problems remain the leading cause of death in America. Combined with strokes, the Center for Disease Control reports these two issues caused 747,451 deaths in 2014. Additional research and educating the public remain at the forefront of the American Heart Association’s goals.

Multiple parking options will be available including Fremont Street Experience, Binion’s and Downtown Third Street Garage.

Check-in and registration begin at 7:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies are at 8:30 a.m.

Findlay Automotive Group CFO Tyler Corder lauded the American Heart Association for its efforts to save lives.

“Findlay Automotive has supported the Heart Association’s Heart &Stroke Walk for a number of years,” Corder said. “More Americans die of heart disease than from any other cause, so we can’t think of a more worthy cause.”
