Ford Super Duty perfect for biggest challenges in Las Vegas

When truck enthusiasts call on the 2016 Ford Super Duty, they know the rugged powerplant will produce. In fact, the vehicle is known as a workhorse capable of towing most anything with ease.

In a nutshell, the four-door Super Duty is among the top-selling trucks at Friendly Ford at 660 N. Decatur Blvd. Ford’s design, construction and delivery of the Super Duty is unquestionably a high mark of the automobile industry.

Mechanical standard features on the Super Duty are impressive and include engine-only traction control, fuel tanks as big as 37.5 gallons, Hill Start Assist, stainless steel exhaust system, stationary elevated idle control, steering damper, trailer hitch receiver and trailer sway control.

Eight-cylinder powertrains highlighted on the Ford Super Duty include the performance that only Ford can provide with a 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 diesel and the 6.2-liter two-valve V-8 gas. The 6.7-liter engine generates 440 horsepower at 2,800 RPM while the 6.2 Liter two-valve V-8 gas engine produces 385 horsepower at 5,500 RPM.

In addition, the Super Duty features aluminum cylinder heads, single-sequential turbo charger and charged air conditioner.

Towing capacities range from 16,600 to 31,200 pounds. The Super Duty was named Best in Class for Diesel Fuel Economy maintained with help of high-pressure fuel injectors.

When properly equipped, the Super Duty has a max payload capacity of 7,050 pounds.

Each model comes with a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. The truck is available in regular cab, crew cab or super cab configurations.

The Super Duty’s safety and security packages are highlighted by AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, Belt Minder front safety belt reminder, brake/shift interlock, child safety seat top tether anchors and SOS Post-Crash Alert System along with Hill Descent Control and a standard trailer brake controller.

Priced from $29,462, the Super Duty is available in XL, XLT, Lariat, Kings Ranch and Platinum trim levels.

Fifty-year-old sales consultant Charles Previs is among the fans of the 2016 Super Duty.

“It is really a workhorse,” said Previs, who was named salesman of the year for Friendly Ford in 2015. “It’s also very rugged. People from all facets of life buy them whether they own ranches or construction companies. Some even buy the Super Duty for their own personal use.

“The kind of people that come looking for them have already sold themselves on the vehicle.”
