Findlay Automotive, Audi donate $35,000 to TIP

The Trauma Intervention Program at University Medical Center plays a vital role in helping families at their worst time. The invaluable group provides solace and guidance for those who have lost a relative because of an unexpected or violent death.

Findlay Automotive Group joined with Audi Henderson and Audi of America to raise $35,000 for TIP. The check was presented during a ceremony at Audi Henderson in the Valley Automall.

When traumatic scenes such as homicides, natural deaths, suicides, car accidents and fires take place in the Las Vegas Valley, first responders will call the TIP team to the scene. TIP volunteers report to the scene, where they provide support to affected friends and family members.

TIP has operated in Southern Nevada for more than 20 years, helping to arrange shelter, food and clothing for surviving victims. The team also serves as a liaison between victims, friends, law enforcement, emergency services and hospital personnel in addition to counseling and support.

“Findlay Automotive Group is proud to support the Trauma Intervention Program of Southern Nevada,” said Findlay Automotive Group CFO Tyler Corder. “We especially wanted to do something to thank them for their response to the October 1 shootings in Las Vegas. They immediately deployed to the scene and to local hospitals to assist family members, first responders and witnesses dealing with this terrible incident. Our community is very fortunate to have TIP available to respond when the need arises.”

Audi Henderson General Manager Jim DiGuilio said Audi of America has a great understanding of social responsibility.

“Audi of America has supported initiatives in building schools, helping flood victims, supporting national charities and many others. It’s a source of pride for me to partner with a company that understands our collective role is larger than the retail automobile business,” he said.

Findlay Automotive Group Director of Operations Justin Findlay said the joint agreement was an excellent example of members of the automobile industry working together.

“Especially in Nevada, executives of the car business are known for their willingness to provide help when it’s needed,” Findlay said. “That belief stretches back to when my grandfather, Pete Findlay, founded Findlay Automotive Group more than 50 years ago.”

Leading TIP of Southern Nevada is CEO Jill Roberts.

“We’re absolutely honored to have been selected by Findlay Automotive and Audi,” she said. “We are privileged to do the work that we do in the community and very much appreciate their help.”
