2015 Forte at Henderson Kia combines power with fuel efficiency

The 2015 Kia Forte compact available at Henderson Kia in the Valley Automall may have one of the most well-balanced automotive packages available.

The base Kia Forte is equipped with a powerful 145-horsepower, 1.8-liter engine, while the EX model is highlighted by 2-liter Gasoline Direct Injection engine with 173 horsepower. The Koup and Forte5 SX models have a 1.6-liter turbocharged GDI engine that delivers 201 horsepower.

With other models, including the LX version, each of the Kia engines includes Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing, which increases power and reduces exhaust emissions.

The five-passenger, four-door Forte has engines that are peppy and fuel-efficient with mileage ratings from 21 city to 39 highway, depending on the model capitalizing on a six-speed manual transmission (optional on the sedan only).

Interiors are equipped with AM/FM/CD/SiriusXM audio system with four speakers and two tweeter speakers. Each model comes equipped with USB/auxiliary input jacks, Bluetooth wireless technology, steering wheel mounted audio control buttons and electric power steering assist.

Each model also comes with six-way adjustable driver’s seat, 60/40 split rear seats, power door locks, air conditioning, power windows with driver’s one-touch auto-up, rear child-safety door locks and Tire Pressure Monitoring System.

Among the standard restraint and safety systems in each model are dual front advanced airbags, dual front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, three-point seatbelts for all seating positions and front seat belt pretensioners, among other safety features.

Standard safety features include Anti-Lock Braking System and Vehicle Stability Management.

Each vehicle comes with the widely acclaimed 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty with the five-year, 60,000-mile limited basic warranty, the five-year limited anti-perforation warranty and the five-year, 60,000-mile roadside assistance.

Dealership sale consultant Brandon Brown sold three Forte models during the first week of September.

“Our customers love the Forte,” said Brown, adding that the vehicle is priced from $16,000. “The vehicle is not only fun to drive but sporty, too.”
