’16 F-150 remains hottest selling truck at Friendly Ford

The 2016 Ford F-150 remains the hottest-selling truck at Friendly Ford. In fact, the vehicle has also led Ford Motor Co. sales for the past 39 years.

There is good reason for the continued popularity of the F-150, especially considering Southern Nevada’s always-challenging weather conditions.

The 2016 model includes a radical new design and body structure, along with a strong performance package that includes the availability of a 2.7-liter V-6 EcoBoost, a 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost, a 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V-6 and a 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V-8.

Ford-Built-Tough technology also features a fully boxed frame with eight cross members made up of 78 percent high-strength steel, which is up from 23 percent from the previous generation.

The safety package is accentuated by factors including an advanced restraint system with dual-stage airbags, curve control in Super Crew models and safety pretensioners that have been added to the belt anchor side that further tightens the lap belt around front seat passengers. The addition keeps front seat passengers more secure in the event of an accident.

Yet another key element with the 2016 Ford F-150 is the standard trailer sway control, a huge factor in the city and on the highway where towing heavy trailers is a common sight. AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control adds to the package.

Larry Davis, a 16-year employee with Friendly Ford, is one of the dealership’s top F-150 sales consultants. His list of truck customers has been consistent each year since joining the dealership after working as a hotel gaming executive for more than 13 years.

“People representing every conceivable industry like the 2016 Ford F-150,” said Davis. “That includes both men and women.”

Two big factors in the success are based on the improving economy of the construction industry along with the continued popularity of off-road racing, which also sees many Ford F-150s competing throughout each year.

Davis also said the F-150 crumple zone is another key safety factor.

“The crumple zone is unbelievable,” Davis said. “It absorbs the impact in the event of an accident.”

Davis said buyers of the F-150 have appreciated its safety.

“The Ford F-150 is the safest truck on the market,” said Davis, adding that the ratings were released by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. In addition, the F-150 received the highest five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Located at 660 N. Decatur Blvd., Friendly Ford opened in 1970. The dealership is a 17-time winner of the prestigious President’s Award, Ford’s highest single honor for customer satisfaction. Further information can be found by calling 702-870-7221 or by visiting www.friendlyfordlv.com.
