Pedestrian killed, another injured in northwest valley crash

A man was killed and another was injured after being struck by an SUV in the northwest valley Friday night, Las Vegas police said.

First responders were called about 8:20 p.m. just north of the intersection of Rancho Drive and Craig Road, Metro Lt. Yaz Yatomi said.

Two men were crossing outside of a designated walking area when an SUV struck them, Yatomi said. One man was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver remained at the scene.

The accident caused road closures on Rancho, just north of Craig, for a several hours, Yatomi said.

The identity of the men will be released at a later time.
