Truck fire slowing I-15 traffic near Mesquite

One lane is open on northbound Interstate 15 near Mesquite after a semi-truck caught fire Monday afternoon, Nevada Department of Transportation said.

The semi-truck caught fire just before 1:30 p.m., prompting the closure of northbound lanes on the highway in the area of Carp Elgin Road at mile marker 100, south of Mesquite, NDOT spokeswoman Ranya Botros said.

Additional details on how the truck caught fire was not immediately available.

The left northbound lane has opened up and traffic is flowing, Botros said.
