Pianists will play

with symphony

Classical traditions are in the hands of a new generation today.

Young pianists in the Community College of Southern Nevada’s 8th Annual Piano Concerto Competition will perform with the Nevada Chamber Symphony. Admission is free to the 2 p.m. event in the college’s Nicholas J. Horn Theatre, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Call 651-4659.

The Las Vegas Master Singers offer a “Festival of New Composers,” featuring the debut of Richard Nance’s “Mass for a New Millennium.” Admission is $10-$15 for the 4 p.m. performance in UNLV’s Doc Rando Recital Hall, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. Call 387-7278.
