LV teen dies, three others injured in crash

A 15-year-old Las Vegas girl was killed when she was thrown from the back seat of a Jeep Cherokee during an off-road accident near St. Rose Parkway and Executive Airport Drive late Thursday, Henderson police said.

The girl was identified as Kelly Rochetto by the Clark County coroner’s office.

The incident happened just before 11 p.m.

There were six people in the Cherokee when it overturned, police said. Rochetto was ejected from the vehicle and she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Three other teens in the back seat also were injured, police said. A 15-year-old girl was taken to the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Two boys, 15 and 16 years old, were taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena campus.

The driver and front passenger were wearing seat belts and the four rear passengers were not, police said.

The vehicle was on a private construction access road when the accident occurred, police said. The speed limit on the road was posted at 15 mph.

Police believe speed might have been a factor in the crash. Investigators do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role.

According to the Clark County School District, Rochetto had just completed her sophomore year at Silverado High School on Thursday.

The names of the others in the Cherokee were withheld by police.
