COMMUNITY FOOD BANK

The Community Food Bank of Clark County will observe National Hunger Awareness Day with a program and luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at 4190 N. Pecos Road. High school and college students will participate in the program by identifying hunger issues and discussing ways to alleviate hunger. Linwood Peel also will perform. There is no fee to attend, but attendees are asked to donate a canned good item (643-0074).

TOASTMASTERS

The Pyramid Power Talkers Toastmasters club meets at 5:45 p.m. Tuesdays at Luxor, 3900 Las Vegas Blvd. South (262-4806).

The Toast of Sierra Toastmasters club meets at 6:15 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Sierra Health, 2704 Tenaya Way (242-7111).

The Summerlin Toasters Toastmasters club meets at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Summerlin Library, 1771 Inner Circle Drive (254-9104).

The Early Eagles Toastmasters club meets at 7:30 a.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Center for Compassionate Care at Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4131 Swenson St. (432-3787).

The Say Watt Toastmasters club meets at noon the first and third Tuesday of each month at Nevada Power, 6226 W. Sahara Ave. (367-5624).

The Toastmasters@the V Club meets at 5:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month at Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 500 W. Monroe Ave. (648-2286).

The Wordsmiths Toastmasters club meets at 6:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month at Denny’s, 3081 S. Maryland Parkway (655-3011).

MARINE CORPS LEAGUE

The Greater Nevada Detachment of Marine Corps League No. 186 meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Leatherneck Club in Childress Hall, 4360 Spring Mountain Road (368-1775).

TELECOMPIONEERS

The Desert Sands Life Member Club of the TelecomPioneers will have a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. June 14 at the Italian American Supper Club, 2333 E. Sahara Ave. Reservations are due by Wednesday. All retired employees of SBC, ATT, Lucent Technologies, Western Electric and former Bell System Companies may attend (645-4236).
