Gamblers howl
raw-lunged rock
They claim that their influences are crappy jobs and mental illness, as it should be for grease-caked punks like the Riverboat Gamblers.
“My head’s not screwed on right,” front man Mike Wiebe howls on the band’s latest disc, “To the Confusion of Our Enemies,” a sandpaper-gritty, yet melodic knuckle-duster that’ll have you reaching for the Excedrin.
For those jonesing for some raw-lunged rock ‘n’ roll, these Gamblers are a safe bet. See the band at 10 p.m. at the Double Down Saloon, 4640 Paradise Road. The show is free; call 791-5775.
