Edwardses plan stops in Nevada

Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards and his wife will visit Nevada separately next week, with the candidate going to Reno and Elizabeth Edwards to Las Vegas on June 23, the campaign said Friday.

The former North Carolina senator and former vice presidential nominee is scheduled to speak at Reno’s Damonte Ranch High School at 4:30 p.m. that day, according to his campaign.

Elizabeth Edwards is slated to preside over the official opening of the campaign’s Las Vegas office at 4160 S. Pecos Road, near the intersection with Flamingo Road. That event has a 4:30 p.m. start time as well.

Elizabeth Edwards, an attorney, discovered in March that her breast cancer, first diagnosed in 2004, has returned. The Edwardses decided to continue campaigning for the presidency.

John Edwards last visited Nevada on June 2, when he addressed the Culinary union.
