Morning fire destroys home in Green Valley

A home in Green Valley was destroyed by fire Friday morning, authorities said.

Henderson firefighters were called about 11:30 a.m. with a report of a house fire in the 300 block of Simon Bolivar Drive, near Warm Springs Road and Valle Verde Drive.

When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the roof of the two-story house. Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 12 minutes. No one was injured.

Investigators determined that the fire was caused by an electrical short. The damage was estimated at $225,000.
