Police searching for suspect in central Las Vegas Valley homicide

Police have located the vehicle of the suspect identified in connection with a homicide that occurred at a central valley home Friday.

The Metropolitan Police Department identified 25-year-old Jaime Santana as a suspect in the homicide reported Friday morning in the 300 block of Lilac Lane. Police said Santana may have been driving a 2015 blue Scion with license plate 37A563; the vehicle was recovered Tuesday near Valley View Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

“Santana remains outstanding and may have altered his appearance, to include cutting his hair shorter,” Metro said in a news release.

About 12:24 a.m. Friday, police responded to a report of a dead woman in the residence, near the intersection of West Bonanza Road and Rancho Drive. Police said the occupants of the home did not know the woman, whom investigators said appeared to be involved in a struggle and sustained several injuries.

The woman was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as Cinthia Wendy Perez Rodriguez, 25. Her death was ruled a homicide.

“Santana is described as a Hispanic male adult, standing 5’10” and weighing approximately 150 pounds,” Metro said in a news release.

This was the 104th homicide investigated by Metro in its jurisdiction this year.

No further details were immediately available.
