Gaels reach final of Easter Classic

Jeff Malm was 2-for-3 with a double to help Bishop Gorman claim a 7-6 victory over La Mirada (Calif.) at Hadland Park on Friday.
The win lifted the Gaels into the championship game of the Bishop Gorman Easter Classic against Monterrey, Calif., at 10:30 a.m. today at Hadland.
Taylor Cole helped the Gaels with a two-run triple in the third inning, and John Rickard supplied a two-run single in the fourth.
• Silverado 5, Coronado 1 — At Silverado, Jordan Keegan went 3-for-3 to help the Skyhawks defeat the Cougars.
Kevin Rath and Mike McDade each homered for Silverado. Gary Detwiler went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double for Coronado.
• Palo Verde 3, Centennial 0 — At Palo Verde, Jordan Worley pitched a three-hitter, striking out eight, to guide the Panthers past the Bulldogs.
Worley also went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs and Drew Ludwig was 2-for-3 with a triple.
• Arbor View 9, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Michael Blazek pitched a three-hitter, striking out four and walking four, to lead the Aggies over the Spartans.
Blazek also went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI.
Logan Marchant was 3-for-3 with two runs for the Aggies, and Oscar Hudson was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI.
• Green Valley 16, Vo-Tech 4 — At Vo-Tech, Tyler Jones was 2-for-2 with a home run and five RBIs as the Gators routed the Roadrunners in five innings.
Eric Stewart and Matt Harrison each went 3-for-3 for the Gators. Stewart drove in two runs and Harrison doubled twice. Vo-Tech’s Eddie Weist was 2-for-3 with a double.
• Foothill 10, Liberty 2 — At Liberty, Foothill’s Kris Soto was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and Jordan Stewart went 2-for-4 with three RBIs as the Falcons defeated the Patriots.
Stewart and Soto each hit two doubles. Kyle Rynearson had two doubles for Liberty.
• Shadow Ridge 25, Mojave 1 — At Shadow Ridge, the Mustangs pounded out 15 hits to roll over the Rattlers.
Caleb Blaylock went 2-for-5 with a double and four RBIs to lead Shadow Ridge, which scored 10 runs in the third inning and 11 in the fourth.
Jordan Blaylock was 2-for-3 for the Mustangs, and three Shadow Ridge pitchers combined on a four-hitter.
• Faith Lutheran 12, Greeley Central (Colo.) 1 — At Rivera Park, Chuck Buchanan was 2-for-3 with two RBIs as the Crusaders won in five innings.
