Jones’ early blast again fuels 51s to easy win

For the second straight night, Mitch Jones delivered a big early blow for the Las Vegas 51s, who rolled to a 10-2 Pacific Coast League victory over the host Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Tuesday.

Jones, who had a first-inning grand slam in Monday’s win, hit a two-run shot in the first Tuesday to give Las Vegas a 4-0 lead.

Tony Abreu had a solo homer in the fifth inning, and Delwyn Young hit a two-run blast to cap a four-run seventh as Las Vegas (3-3) took a 10-0 lead.

The Sky Sox (0-3) got their only runs on Alexis Gomez’s two-run double in the bottom of the ninth.

Eric Stults (1-0) got the win, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out four in five innings.
