SIGNINGS
Mitch Albom will give a presentation and have a book signing at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson. The presentation will be preceded by activities and live music by the Shapiro Project at 1 p.m.; 267-2171.

Kenneth Engel, author of “Street Education 101: Guide to a Woman’s Unprotected Life,” and David A. Goldberg, author of “Stupidity and Slot Machine Payers in Las Vegas,” will give readings 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at Mount Charleston Hotel, 2 Kyle Canyon Road.
“An Evening with Jon Jefferson,” the journalist, writer and documentary filmmaker and anthropologist Bill Bass discuss their book “Beyond the Body Farm” at 7 p.m. Monday at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. A reception and book signing will follow.

The Great Books Reading & Discussion Group meets at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The Sahara West Book Discussion Group meets at 7 p.m. the last Thursday of each month, and the Murder in the Library club meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month and 10 a.m. the following Wednesday of each month at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

Several valley bookstores offer story times and special events for children:
Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and the first Saturday of the month at Barnes and Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.
Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
