Casinos unveil more football contests

The Great Giveaway Football Contest at Palace Station, Boulder Station, Texas Station, Sunset Station, Santa Fe Station and Red Rock Resort is giving away $45,000 in weekly prizes (players picking the most winners split $30,000; those with the most losers split $15,000) and $235,000 at the end of the season (most winners split $100,000; most losers split $25,000, plus additional winners). Each all-season entry is $25. If you buy two entries, you receive the third free, plus $25 in free slot play. Wins are determined by actual score and not the spread.

Those looking for higher-end pigskin action should check out “Friendly Frank’s Pro Championship Challenge” at the South Point or El Cortez. For a $2,500 all-season entry fee, players pick five games per week against the point spread. At the end of the season, all players picking 65 percent or more winners will split $50,000, with the top four pickers getting from $25,000 to $100,000. If more than 200 entries are sold, then the top four winners receive $50,000 to $200,000.

Nevada Palace players will receive a logo polo shirt when they earn 500 same-day points ($625 coin-in; no points deducted) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Limit one shirt per customer per day.

Plaza bingo players now receive a buffet comp if they buy-in for $25 or more at 11 a.m. bingo sessions. The bingo room also is featuring $10,000 Super Coverall cards or less at every session. The cards are three for $1 (in addition to a minimum buy-in) and you have to get a coverall in 52 numbers or less to take all.

Tuesday and Aug. 28, the poker rooms at Palace Station, Boulder Station, Texas Station, Sunset Station, Santa Fe Station, Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Resort will each draw 10 names to share $2,500. Players receive one entry for every 10 minutes of poker play and must be present at the drawings to win.

Besides offering double points Aug. 24-26, Suncoast customers will receive a 75 percent discount when they pay their entire bill with points at any of the casino’s restaurants.
