IN THE HOOD
August 17, 2007 - 9:00 pm
Hoodies used to be that light jacket you grabbed on your way to the gym. Then they matured into loungewear, courtesy of Juicy Couture, a few years back. Now, they’ve evolved so much that nearly every online retailer has a category for “hoodie.” And they extend far beyond simple sportswear, too. The fabrics have stepped up, as have the styles.
Looks like this navy blue sweater with a nautical design from Gap takes a different approach to the hood by following the lines of a sailor’s uniform. Even the traditional zip up trend, as seen in this Torn hoodie from shopbop.com, has been upgraded. The hood on the jacket unzips, making for a fashion statement both zipped and unzipped. If it’s high style all the way, consider this hoodie from Marc by Marc Jacobs. It’s a sweater, not a jacket and, as shown, the inside of the hood is lined with fur.
No matter your budget, a stylish hoodie is well within reach this season.
